Chairperson:
Juan Antonio Botía Blaya. Co-Chair: José Tomás Palma Méndez.

The aim of this session is to foster discussion and exchange of ideas on how information and communications technologies and techniques can contribute to the improvement of the elderly's live quality at home. In this sense, we are interested on considering technologies and techniques which range form ambient intelligent systems and ubiquitous computing to intelligent data analysis, and may include others like software agents and knowledge based systems. The discussion shall be centered on the elderly. More specifically, we are interested in ageing persons which live alone and independently. How can these technologies improve their quality of living and independence? We expect works addressing topics like the following, among others: new algorithms for daily activities related pattern recognition, software architectures of systems for elderly care at home, equipment and appliances for elderly care at home, methodologies for developing final products regarding elderly care athome.
