The aim of this session is to foster discussion and exchange of ideas
on how information and communications technologies and techniques can
contribute to the improvement of the elderly's live quality at home. In
this sense, we are interested on considering technologies and
techniques which range form ambient intelligent systems and ubiquitous
computing to intelligent data analysis, and may include others like
software agents and knowledge based systems. The discussion shall be
centered on the elderly. More specifically, we are interested in ageing
persons which live alone and independently. How can these technologies
improve their quality of living and independence? We expect works
addressing topics like the following, among others: new algorithms for
daily activities related pattern recognition, software architectures of
systems for elderly care at home, equipment and appliances for elderly
care at home, methodologies for developing final products regarding
elderly care athome.
